Senior Clinical Principal Instructor

Position Overview

The Senior Clinical Principal Instructor provides strategic instructional leadership and

mentorship across the Vistelar unified conflict management training program. Reporting to

the Chief Clinical Officer, the individual in this role ensures that all training is learner

centered, experiential, and competency-based. The Senior Clinical Principal Instructor

bridges content development and training execution, ensuring that curriculum changes are

fully integrated into instructional delivery and that instructors are equipped to deliver high

impact learning experiences across diverse professional audiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead clinical instructional strategy and classroom delivery for Vistelar unified

conflict management training.

• Provide mentorship and preceptorship for onboarding new instructors

• Design and lead execution of curriculum across training programs

• Ensures integration of content updates into training delivery

• Establish and maintain a professional training program for Principal Instructors and

Instructors

• Serve as content reviewer and instructional quality lead

• Develop and maintain a competency-based instructor model

• Ensure instructors meet and maintain competency standards across professions

(e.g., healthcare, academia, security, law enforcement)

 

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in instructional design and delivery

• Proven ability to lead training strategy and mentor instructional staff

• Expertise in experiential learning and learner-centered methodologies

• Instructional Coaching & Feedback: Skilled in delivering formative feedback,

coaching instructors in real-time, and fostering reflective practice

• Simulation & Scenario Design: Experience designing immersive, high-fidelity

simulations or role-play scenarios that reinforce conflict management principles

• Data-Informed Instructional Improvement: Ability to analyze learner outcomes,

training evaluations, and performance metrics to refine instructional strategy

• Cross-Cultural Communication: Proficiency in adapting training for diverse

audiences, integrating inclusive language, and addressing bias and equity in conflict

scenarios

• Technology-Enhanced Learning: Familiarity with multimodal instructional design

and delivery such as simulation, virtual reality, online, didactic, and learner

centered training using blended learning tools to extend experiential training beyond

the classroom

• Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement: Capacity to lead instructional

initiatives during organizational change, and to engage stakeholders in co-designing

training solutions

• Facilitation of Interdisciplinary Teams: Skilled in guiding collaborative learning

among professionals from different fields, fostering shared understanding and

mutual respect

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree in health care or clinical field (e.g., MSN, EdD, PhD, DNP).

• Certification in adult learning or simulation (e.g., ATD Master Trainer, CHSE, or

similar)

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary training teams across health care continuum

• Demonstrated success in curriculum integration, especially in high-stakes or

regulatory environments

• Track record of mentoring instructors and building scalable onboarding or

competency frameworks

• Expertise in trauma-informed, inclusive instructional practices and experiential

learning methodologies

 

VISTELAR JOB DESCRIPTION

• Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards relevant to target audiences

(e.g., Joint Commission, CAEP, POST)

• Strong facilitation and communication skills, with ability to adapt content for

diverse learner needs and professional contexts

• Experience with simulation, virtual reality, or blended learning platforms to enhance

experiential training

• Published work or national presentations on instructional strategy, conflict

management, or professional development

 

Performance Metrics

• Percentage of client training completed on time and meeting or exceeding defined

success criteria

• Instructor retention and engagement performance and retainment

• Improvement in learner satisfaction and performance metrics

Instructor Competency Maintenance

• Achieves annual instructional evaluation benchmarks through peer review or

standardized assessment

• Delivers training with ≥95% adherence to standardized curriculum and instructional

methodology

 

Learner Engagement

• Maintains average learner satisfaction score of 4.5/5 or higher across training

sessions

 

Instructional Adaptability

• Demonstrates ability to tailor delivery for at least 2 distinct professional sectors

annually (e.g., healthcare, education/academia, security/law enforcement)

 

Feedback Responsiveness

• Incorporates peer and learner feedback into instructional improvement plans within

30 days of receipt

 

Training Volume

• Leads or co-leads a minimum of 10 training sessions per year

Travel

• Domestic travel required, 40-50% per month average per annum
