Advancing Workplace Safety Through OHSU–Vistelar Partnership

Under the nine-year agreement, Vistelar will deliver its Unified Conflict Management System intellectual property, e-learning, and instructor-led training for: 

• Workplace violence prevention, management, and interventions 
• Active assailant prevention and response 

The tailored, evidence-based training is focused on: 

• Early-warning recognition so staff can identify and address potential risks before they escalate. 
• Non-escalation skills to prevent situations from escalating into workplace violence. 
• Confidence-building strategies to ensure staff feel prepared and supported in challenging situations. 
• Safety-enhancing de-escalation, personal protection, and intervention skills.

This collaboration builds on OHSU’s broader workplace safety initiatives, including expanded mental health resources, policy updates, and proactive engagement with employees at every level. It is designed to strengthen both prevention and response capabilities across the organization.
